Instagram-Worthy Photo Spots in Llandudno
Whether you're visiting for the day or enjoying a longer stay, Llandudno is full of picture-perfect locations waiting to be captured. From sweeping coastal views and Victorian architecture to colourful gardens and hidden gems, there's no shortage of stunning backdrops for your next Instagram post.
Here are some of our favourite photo spots around town.
1. Llandudno Pier
No visit to Llandudno is complete without a photo on the town's iconic Victorian Pier.
Capture the colourful amusements, the elegant lamp posts, or walk to the end for panoramic views back towards the promenade and the Great Orme.
Best time to visit: Early morning or golden hour for softer light and fewer crowds.
📍 Top Tip: Stand at the end of the pier looking back towards the shoreline for one of Llandudno's most recognisable views.
2. Great Orme Summit
For breathtaking views, head to the summit of the Great Orme.
From here, you'll enjoy sweeping views across Llandudno Bay, Conwy, Anglesey and, on a clear day, even as far as Snowdonia (Eryri).
Don't forget to snap a photo with the famous summit sign!
Best time to visit: Sunset or on a clear summer morning.
3. Happy Valley Gardens
Tucked beneath the Great Orme, Happy Valley Gardens is one of Llandudno's prettiest green spaces.
With colourful flower beds, winding pathways and sea views, it's a beautiful spot throughout spring and summer.

4. The Great Orme Cable Cars
One of the most unique views in Llandudno.
Whether you're riding the cable cars or photographing them from below, they create an incredible backdrop against the cliffs and sea.
Top Tip: Capture a cable car gliding above Happy Valley Gardens.
5. WestShore Promenade
With its wide sandy beach, rolling dunes and uninterrupted views across Conwy Bay towards the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia), it's a favourite with photographers and nature lovers alike. It's also one of the best places in North Wales to watch the sunset, when the sky is often filled with vibrant shades of orange, pink and purple.
6. West Shore Beach
Looking for somewhere a little quieter?
West Shore offers wide sandy beaches, peaceful scenery and some of the most spectacular sunsets in North Wales.
Bring your camera in the evening to capture the changing colours across the water.
7. Mostyn Street
The heart of Llandudno is full of Victorian character.
Colourful shopfronts, independent businesses and seasonal decorations make Mostyn Street a great place for lifestyle photography.

8. Marine Drive
Often described as one of the most scenic drives in North Wales, Marine Drive circles the Great Orme with dramatic coastal views around every corner.
You'll find plenty of safe stopping points to admire the cliffs, lighthouse and sea below.
